About me
Thank you for visiting my website. I am Justin Timmer, Human Movement Scientist, projectmanager and researcher. I have this website as a hobby to improve and show myself (read more). The menu’s and the blogs on the website show you who I am in a more detailed manner. Below I explain the structure of the menu’s.
QS-lifestory
Every day, I track about 40 variables using apps and wearables, I have been doing this since 2013. I don’t always experiment or change behavior when I track things, nonetheless I have learned many things just by tracking my life on a daily basis. Tracking myself raised my awareness of things, confronted me with facts, showed me unexpected changes, and made me deeper investigate important things. I learned a lot about happiness (and that it is not the most important thing), about stress, my phone use, sleep, my resting heart rate, and many more life-lessons. I have many blog idea’s ready because I stacked a huge pile of data over the past years.
QS-experiments
I experimented with many things over the past years to increase my self-understanding and to improve myself. Within this menu you can find a broad range of articles like why do i eat?, and experiment that made me twice as strong in a month without working out, or an experiment where I spend a winter in a t-shirt without feeling cold. Lastly, I experimented, and reviewed many self-tracking devices like the Mindwave-Mobile, the Pavlok, Muse headband, Fitbit Charge 2, Withings Blood Pressure monitor, Basis B1, Ubiome, and hundreds of apps.
Thoughts and idea’s
From my self-tracking, experiments, reading books/articles and watching video’s about complexity and fractals, I gained much knowledge about life in general. Which this knowledge, I do the thing that enjoys me most; thinking about things and making idea’s. I like to think about unexplored area’s of research using complexity/fractals as a basis. I am sharing my thoughts to make my thoughts to inspire others, to hear criticism, and to make some of them come true. But most of all, I write about my thoughts, to make them more structured, sustainable and easy to share, what guides me towards new thoughts and new idea’s. I believe this is the most beneficial reason for me to blog on my website.
Have fun reading!
